Full Detail in Steele Creek, Charlotte – 2021 Toyota Camry
The Problem
A Steele Creek commuter reached out after noticing their dark grey Toyota Camry had become an eyesore in the office parking lot. The paint was covered in a thick layer of brake dust fallout from the highway on-ramp they used twice daily, and water spots from apartment complex sprinklers had etched into the hood and roof. The clear coat on the trunk lid had started to look hazy from UV exposure. Inside, fast food wrappers had accumulated in the door pockets, the cloth seats had absorbed the smell of takeout lunches eaten during breaks, and a pen had exploded in the center console, leaving ink stains on the lining and surrounding plastic. The wheels were caked with layered brake dust that had baked onto the barrel finish, and the tires had faded to a chalky grey. Road tar dotted the lower rocker panels and rear bumper from construction zones along the commute route.
Our Process
- Iron fallout decontamination spray on all wheels and lower body panels
- Wheel barrel scrub and tire cleaning with dedicated brushes
- Road tar removal from rocker panels and rear bumper with clay and solvent
- Full exterior foam cannon pre-wash and two-bucket hand wash
- Clay bar treatment on all painted surfaces to remove embedded contaminants
- Single-stage machine polish to address water spot etching and trunk haze
- Ceramic spray sealant for lasting UV and contaminant protection
- Interior debris cleanout and full vacuum of all surfaces
- Cloth seat extraction to remove food odor from fabric
- Ink stain treatment and removal from center console
- Tire gel dressing for a deep black finish
The Results
The Camry went from being the most neglected car in the parking lot to one of the sharpest. The full car detail in Charlotte addressed every layer of buildup — the brake dust was dissolved from the wheels, the tar was removed without a trace, and the water spot etching on the hood was polished smooth. The trunk lid regained its gloss after the UV haze was corrected. Inside, the ink stain was completely removed, the cloth seats no longer smelled like old takeout, and the cabin felt clean and organized. The ceramic sealant gave the dark grey paint a wet-look depth that made it look nearly new.
