The Problem

We received a call from a SouthPark resident who needed mobile interior car detailing in Charlotte for their 2022 Acura MDX. The vehicle served double duty as a work commuter and weekend family hauler, and it showed. Coffee had pooled in the driver-side cup holder and dried into a dark crust that spread across the center console trim. The second-row leather seats had ground-in crumbs wedged into every seam, and a sticky residue from a melted candy bar had bonded to the rear passenger armrest. Dust had settled into every air vent slat, and the cargo area carpet was matted with dirt from soccer cleats and grocery bags dragged across it weekly. The headliner above the driver seat had a faint yellow discoloration from years of sun exposure through the moonroof, and the steering wheel leather was worn smooth and darkened from daily grip. Floor mats had long since stopped being effective — debris had worked its way underneath them and into the carpet padding below.

Our Process

• Removed all floor mats and loose items for full access to carpet surfaces
• Compressed air blowout of all air vents, seat track rails, and console gaps
• Cup holder and console disassembly cleaning to remove dried coffee residue
• Sticky candy residue removal from armrest using safe solvent and microfiber
• Full hot water extraction on all carpet surfaces including under-mat areas
• Leather deep cleaning on all three rows with pH-balanced solution
• Leather conditioning treatment to restore suppleness to worn driver seat and steering wheel
• Headliner spot treatment for sun discoloration
• Dashboard, trim, and door panel wipe-down with UV protectant
• Interior glass cleaning on all windows and moonroof panel

The Results

The Acura's interior was brought back to a condition the owner said they hadn't seen since the first year of ownership. The cup holder and console area were completely free of coffee buildup, the candy residue was gone without any damage to the leather, and every vent was dust-free. The carpets were soft and clean after extraction pulled up dirt that had been grinding in for months. The steering wheel leather, after cleaning and conditioning, felt grippy and smooth rather than slick and worn. Even the headliner discoloration was noticeably reduced. The owner mentioned that the car smelled clean in a way that no tree air freshener had ever achieved.
